I began my educational career with F1S schools 29 years ago and began my first year of teaching at McLaurin. I taught Special Education for 9 years, Lower Elementary Montessori for 15 years, and was McLaurin's Curriculum Coordinator for 2 years. In 2020, I became one of the Assistant Principals at McLaurin. I am certified in Special Education, Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Primary Montessori (ages 3-5), Lower Montessori (ages 6-9), and Upper Montessori (ages 9-12). I became the principal at McLaurin at the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
I am married to Jeremy and we have a daughter, Lilly, and son, Freeman. When not at McLaurin or soaking in Montessori, I enjoy time at church, time with family and friends, reading, and going to the beach.
I look forward to working even more with our primary students; helping and encouraging teachers and staff; and providing information to help our wonderful parents at McLaurin. I look forward to continuing to build and strengthen relationships with all to help our children at McLaurin soar.

Mrs. Erin Figueras
I'm honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of McLaurin Elementary School. With 17 years in education, my background includes serving as the Director of Central United Methodist Preschool and, most recently, as the Curriculum Coordinator for North Vista Elementary. I have also had the pleasure of teaching preschool as well as second through sixth grades. I truly believe that every student deserves an equitable opportunity to reach their full potential, and I'm committed to creating a supportive and engaging school environment where all learners can thrive. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the State University of New York at Purchase, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Manhattanville College, and a Master of Arts in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University. As an educational leader, I'm passionate about personalized learning, building strong relationships, and working collaboratively with staff, families, and the community to empower our Scotties to grow into confident, curious, and compassionate citizens.
I'm married to Erick, and we have two sons, Preston and Harrison. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, shopping, and most of all, spending time with my family.
I look forward to supporting our students' continued growth, collaborating with our dedicated teachers and staff, and partnering with our wonderful families to ensure every child at McLaurin soars, because we are “PAWSITIVELY” the best!
